What makes you happy? Here are some Tips to help!
Embrace the “real” you
This is a very important thing to remember when you’re on the pursuit for happiness. Remind yourself that you are your own man/woman. You don’t need to be on par with another person just to feel good. You can be happy just by being you.
“Share your weaknesses. Share your hard moments. Share your real side. It’ll either scare away every fake person in your life or it will inspire them to finally let go of that mirage called “perfection,” which will open the doors to the most important relationships you’ll ever be a part of.”
― Dan Pearce, Single Dad Laughing
* Be the better man / woman – forgive others
One of the funny things about people is that we complicate our own lives. We don’t own up to our mistakes just because of our prideful nature. Well, I discovered that being the better person in a fight has its advantages.
For starters, the ones who try to make amends are the ones who feel “lighter” when all has been said and done. The burden of thinking negative thoughts towards another person will simply vanish and with it are the ill feelings.
Furthermore, there’s nothing good to come out of burning bridges. Yes, there is always an exception to the rule but I see nothing wrong in keeping as many relationships as one possibly can.
*Positive thoughts- breeds positive things
I have learnt recently that being around positive people is contagious. It makes you smile and makes you feel good, also gives you a better stance of appreciation of what you have.
Negativity, breeds negative emotions and brings you into a downward spiral. I am not saying avoid negative people. But those around us influence our moods. So think positive, act positive, outcome is positive.
*Laughter is the best form of medicine
Like above, positive people bring great happiness and fun to your life. Laughter does that as well. I know for me Absolutely Fabulous or Faulty Towers are my go to shows when I need a pick me up. They have be laughing out loud at how hilarious it is. Laughing more makes you happy. So start laughing.
*Learn something new
The accomplishment that you feel once you have mastered something new, is a fantastic feeling. I recently learnt how to make Naan bread and Red Thai Curry. I did it all from scratch and It felt amazing once I had perfected it. Pushing your comfort zone is scary but feels amazing once you achieve it. So start pushing your comfort zones and start learning.
* Visit your loved ones more often
Family will always be there through thick and thin. If you are struggling or going through a bad patch. Your loved ones will be there through thick and thin. Makes you feel happier in yourself.
* Spend less time on the Internet
Stay too long and the four corners of your room will only turn you into a gloomy version of yourself. Go outside and feel the sun. Indeed, the Internet is a wonderland filled with useful information, but there’s more to life than sitting in front of your computer screen.
* Exercise whenever you get the chance
Your physique has a lot of effects on your psyche. It’s more likely that you won’t feel happy if you’re having breathing problems when you’re climbing the stairs. Burn those fats away and live a healthier and much happier life!
You’ve got to work for it and give it your all.
* Put effort in things you “CAN” control
I learned that there are a lot of things in this life that are out of my hands. For example, whether I’m going to be a Top Recruiter or Top anything. However, there are also some things that I can control and those are the ones that truly matter. This is pretty much the most important tip in the list because happiness is truly a state of mind.
I hope these tips help you stay happy and healthy and motivated.
